If you are looking to whittle some golf strokes off of your game but don’t want to spend a fortune on one of the expensive golf gps systems you will love the iGolf GPS Caddie II . This gps golf unit is aimed at the budget end of the golf GPS market. Just how good is a golf gps budget unit you are asking?
You will notice how much different, and simple the unit looks compared to some of the golf GPS systems currently available. The screen is very bright and does not have anything fancy on it at all. It displays all the information you need in a simple very clear format. This display is a pretty large 120 x 160 pixel LCD screen that gives a great readout in all weather conditions, and is completely weather resistant.
The unit is controlled by a single blue button giving a very simple to use one touch operation. It will display distance to key points on the fairway and the green, shot distance showing you how far you managed to hit your drives, always nice for when you really spank that ball down the green! It will display the front back, center yardages for the green and allow you to add up to 8 custom points per hole such as bunkers, end of fairway or distance to water.
The software for the iGolf Gps Caddie II that is bundled with the unit is of good quality with a simple to use interface allowing easy synchronization between your home computer and the GPS through a USB cable which is provided with your purchase.
On top of all this the iGolf GPS Caddie II should work on any course in the world with satellite access and also allowing you to easily map your own courses or points of interest on existing ones. This feature is a pleasant surprise as it is one only normally found on the more expensive Golf GPS systems.
The iGolf Caddie II GPS while being a budget level golf gps system certainly has almost as many features as some of its more expensive competitors.
The one thing that is slightly negative about the iGolf GPS Caddie II review we did was that some purchasers of this unit had some feedback about the unit using AA batteries rather than the more common built in rechargeable battery systems, the battery life can be a bit low. Using rechargeable AA batteries and carrying a spare set can help solve this issue.
If you are looking for a great gps for golf, you will definitely have found a winner with the iGolf Gps Caddie II. It may not have all the bells and whistles, and the graphics the other models do, but for the money it is a great buy, and several of the testimonials we looked at told about the reduced number of strokes in their golf game.
